James's new adventure

This is not what our Wegmans looks like (got it off the Internet)... Ours is MUCH Bigger (150,000 sq ft!)

So, James's physical and drug test came back faster than we thought and his first day is Tuesday! He is just going in for a few hours to do paperwork and get his schedule and all of that hoopla, so technically his first official working day is Wednesday. Hey, as long as he is getting paid on Tuesday, who cares, right?!
We aren't sure where he is supposed to travel to for training. The last interviewer mentioned Woodbridge, which is much closer to us than Gainesville, so hopefully it is Woodbridge...
Everything else is going great... I am still getting used to being at home. It is kind of weird and I feel pretty guilty most of the time... I am trying to figure out whether or not I should file for unemployment... It could be the difference in money that we need to pay bills and our mortgage. But I am still an assistant to a real estate agent, so I am not sure if that takes me out of qualifying... We are looking into it, but we shall see...
My nephew is being baptized today in Utah, I love you William! I hope you have a wonderful experience!!!
Time is going by fast. It is amazing how quickly the day goes whether you are working or not.
Anyways, I am just rambling now. Thanks for all of the prayers that you have said for us, we love you guys!

Wegmans News

Well.........................
Wegmans offered James a job. He will be the STL (Service Team Leader) pretty much his same position at the Bank, but MUCH LESS PAY. They do have super cheap health care benefits (hopefully that is a good thing) so I guess that is why when James tried to negotiate a little with the money they said no... It is $10,000 less a year than he made at the bank. And because I am now unemployed, this makes things tight... It is a good thing this all happened around tax return time... So now, we are looking at all of our little extras, like tv and propane (heat) that we can get rid of for now... We will call up our mortgage lender and find out if we qualify for help with our mortgage payments... That is the most expensive expense... $1300/month.
So, it looks like Medicaid will still be paying for our baby's birth. Health care doesn't start for 90 days... I still have an appointment for WIC, so I am sure that I will still qualify.
James has to pass a drug test and a quick background check, and then he officially starts work. The other thing is, he has to commute to Gainesville, VA (really far away) everyday for training until the store here is up and running... His car is not reliable enough to make it... Oh well, I know everything will work out... We were just extremely disappointed. Four interviews, he wore a suit every time... so disappointed.
The hardest part for me is when James seems disappointed (because if you know James, he never gets down), but yesterday he was really disappointed as well. He said, "So much for my college degree doing anything for me." (Heart breaking)
Don't worry, we are both in better spirits today. It's like the night we found out he lost his job. Take a while to mourn, and get on with life. This baby is still coming and he is still our little miracle!
Oh well, I hope this isn't a depressing blog, I should wait a little while before I post it so it doesn't sound so negative, but I know some of you are waiting on pins and needles to find out what happened.
WE WILL BE FINE! No worries!

Job interview update

Okay, so today went really well with James's third interview. They told him about the position they were thinking about for him, which I am not going to go into now, I'll wait until they offer him the position to talk about it on the blog...
But they told him that it is a high paying job... I don't care how high paying it is, so long as I can stay at home with our little boy (working from home). Anyways, his next interview and hopefully the last is Monday at 12:30...

No... that isn't a basketball under my shirt!

Okay, here they are. A little less than nine weeks left... YIKES!

Pics of most recent blankets

Okay, so these are my two newest additions to my baby blanket collection. I wish my camera would do a better job of showing them off... The brown squares of each are softy, furry bumpy material. The blue or pink squares are satin and the other squares are a print that say I love Mommy, I love Daddy all over with little rattles and pacifiers and rubber duckies.
I am really in love with these prints, I just wish the pictures did them a little more favor!
The picture at the top is the close up of the print in the middle of the blanket. The girls is the same, just pink!

Good News

Okay, so James got a call from Wegmans today, he is going to meet with the store manager on Friday morning. This definitely was the pick me up that I needed! My last day of work was yesterday and I was freaking out a little about no more money coming in on my part...
So, we've been pretty busy. The nursery is almost set up... we've also been able to work on projects around the house that we have been putting off for way too long. I am definitely nesting!
We got the fax machine up and running so that I can work for home (I am the assistant to a real estate agent that works with foreclosures), this will be really important for after the baby is born...
Anyways, I am in very good spirits today, I just hope that this is the job for us!

Two peas in a pod

So I just got home from my girlfriends baby shower. She is having twins (her first babies too!) and the theme of the party was Two peas in a pod. So Amanda (the fabulous party planner) asked me if I could make two blankets for the babies and have two peas in a pod. I was super excited about the idea and the challenge. She asked me on Sunday if I could do it and the party was today, so I had plenty of time. Well, I am glad that I started working on it on Sunday because I didn't get them finished until Friday evening. I found the diagram that I wanted on google images and then I had to draw it and trace it with a Sharpe and James scanned it in and downloaded it to my computer program that turns images into embroideries... Well, lets just say, it took a couple of hours and days to get it to look right. So then, we got it all made and then the font wasn't working out quite right on the minky fabric... So, we made a tag that says two peas in a pod. The little girl's blanket is pink and the boy's blanket is orange. It was so fun to see the finished product and to be satisfied!
Okay, quick updates, James's interview went well. They told him that they were going to make their decision in one to two weeks and get back to him then. So now I just have to keep myself distracted until the phone call! : )
My last day at work is Monday and I will be paid through to Wednesday. I am so thankful that it lasted as long as it did, it has been a great blessing to have had it so long. Really, I am only a little over two months until the baby comes, so that is pretty good.
I almost forgot! I have been looking for a dresser/changing table for a long time on craigs list. They are too expensive to buy brand new and I stumbled across one for $20! How awesome is that?! The only thing was, it wasn't local so we had to drive up the freeway several exits and pick it up, but even then, we put $20 in the gas tank and paid $20 for the dresser. So in the end, we paid $40 for this awesome dresser and a new one is at least $150 dollars for a piece of trash. Let me tell you, the picture on craigs list didn't even do it justice! I was so excited when I saw it. I will post a picture of it once we get the nursery together. (That is my next project)

No More Spaghettios???

My girlfriend called to tell me that she read a forwarded e-mail that the company that makes Spaghettios is going under and they had to stop production this past Monday at 11am. There was only enough left in the country for a week. So she went to the local Wal-Mart and bought all of the large cans of Spaghettios she could find. It turned out to be 30 cans. While she was loading her cart, she was telling all the other customers that seemed to be staring at her, that if they like Spaghettios, they'd better stock up while they still can! Then she ran into the missionaries and told them the story. She then went on to the cashier who laughed at her when she saw the shopping cart. Then she was talking to her father that night and when he found out what she did, he just started laughing and told her that the e-mail was from an excerpt of a newspaper that writes false stories and that the whole thing wasn't true!
Well, that is one way to get your food storage stocked up! : )

Quick updates

Okay, so James had a really good interview with Wegmans and he goes back next Tuesday for a follow up interview. (Trying not to get too excited...)
I got a phone call late Wednesday from Labcorp. The lady started our conversation by saying that there was an accident with my lab work from Saturday... All I could say was, "OH NO! That was my glucose test!!!" She quickly told me that the only thing that was lost was my CBC.
Oh man! I think I would have cried if they lost my glucose test. So the next morning I had my 29week Dr. appt. They said that I passed my glucose test and don't worry about going back to do the CBC. I LOVE my Dr.!!! I now start going every two weeks. It is becoming VERY real now!
That's all for now!

Snow Days...Gotta love em!

So last weekend, due to not really sleeping well during the week with James up all night coughing his lungs out, we both pretty much crashed this past weekend. It felt so good to finally feel rested again. And then on Sunday night, James had coughing fits again. (This time it was an asthma attack) When the alarm clock went off on Monday morning, I was felt wasted again. So, as soon as I looked out the window, I wanted to cry in pure joy to see a ton of snow everywhere, and it was still snowing, pretty hard!
So, I called my boss, who told me not to come in and I ate some breakfast and then James and I went back to sleep. We didn't wake up for hours, it was so great! Then, when we did get up, we started doing some major cleaning that I had wanted to get done Saturday and Sunday, but we were both too tired to do. The upstairs has officially been "spring cleaned" with 3-4 inches of snow outside. :)
Now, just to do the downstairs too... Hopefully that will be this coming weekend.
Gotta love those four day work weeks, especially when they are unexpected!
I am a little bummed that we didn't play in the snow, but James was still sick and I know I won't fit into my snow suit. : )
Three days later, not much snow has melted. The sun has been out strong ever since the snow stopped Monday morning, but the temperature has been so low (barely above freezing during the day) that nothing has really melted.
Okay, so also, another exciting thing that happened this weekend... I did my glucose test... UGH! Okay, I have to clarify, the drink was not that bad at all. It really did taste just like a flat orange soda. It tingled in your throat and everything. But how it made me feel in the next 3-4 hours, that was the crappy part! My goodness. It was like I was having morning sickness all over again! I didn't want to see sugar ever again (of course, that didn't last more than a day), and I could hardly eat real food for a while... But, it is over, and at my appointment tomorrow, I hope to find out that I passed, because I don't want to do that again for at least a year or two!
Okay, so one more exciting thing... On Saturday, James got a phone call from Wegmans supermarket. They are building one here in town and James applied several weeks ago. They just started interviewing and he has an interview today at 4pm. Cross your fingers, say some prayers.... They aren't going to open until at least June, but hey, that is fine with me!
Okay, so I think that is all the updates, sorry if I bored you to death. I tend to go into too much detail sometimes... : )
Oh, and I just found out the I won't have a job in the next couple of weeks, so really, say some prayers for us please!
