Feel better soon Grandma!

This is my beautiful mom and she got right on a plane the day that Landon was born (Mother's Day) to be with me to help with my first child. She had just been in Utah to help with my brother's family while my nephew Daniel was born just days before. The plan is to fly back out for Daniel's baby blessing, Landon's baby blessing, one more trip to Utah to help while my sister-in-law Kaisie has surgery, and then out to California to be with my brother and his family. Well, Dad called this weekend to tell me that Mom is in the hospital with a blood clot. Thank goodness she went to the Dr.! Blood clots can kill people! So, now we are waiting to see what the Dr. decides about her traveling anymore this summer. I think Daniel's blessing is this weekend coming up too... Mom, your health is more important! Don't forget that! I'd rather my children get to play with their grandma than just hear stories about how wonderful she was.
Get better soon, Landon sends kisses!

First time at the pool!

We went to the pool for the first time this last weekend. Landon did really well. He loves to be outside, so that helped a lot. It was pretty warm out. He sat in the baby pool with us for a long time and of course his diaper got super heavy... Then he was done and ready for a nap. So James and I took turns swimming and rocking him to sleep. It was so nice to get in the pool and feel so free. I didn't realize how many aches I had until I got out of the water. I think we'll have to try and go every day...

Just Chillin!

I woke him up after I took this picture... Ooops! it was so worth it though! : )
Landon loves to sleep with a hand under his cheek. I think it is so adorable!

Don't you just want to kiss that little face all day long!?!??!?!

Yay! Aunt Heather is finally back!

I thought this was a cool father/son shot.
Okay, to catch you up on everything... A few weekends ago, we had lightening strike right next to the house and our "ether net" got killed. We had to buy a new modem and router and it seems like James's XBOX live is dead too. I can't say that I am too sad about that... but it still sucks because it is really expensive to fix. We also think that our phone jack in the master bedroom is dead too... Wow, yeah, now I will take it more seriously when they tell you not to use the phone and other things during a lightening storm...
Landon is doing great! He just started smiling a lot and he talked to me last week and James thinks that he laughed this weekend. Can't wait to hear it! He slept Five hours on Saturday night and Sunday night he slept for five and a half hours and when he woke up, he didn't pig out like he normally does... I think we are finally falling into a schedule!!! I am so excited! Now we just have to get him out of our bed at night! I know, I know, small steps...
Wegmans opened on Father's Day. James had to work from 5am to 1pm just to help out with the craziness. He said when he got there at 5am, there were customers already lined up at the door waiting for it to open at 7am! Can you believe it??? It is just a grocery store... sort of... He said that they were making $57,000/hour. And they have 600 or 700 carts and that wasn't enough. There was a line of people at the doors waiting for shopping carts. So he spent most of the day running carts from the parking lot with the other guys.
I am kind of sad for the other grocery stores in the area, because I think that they might not make it now...and lots of people would lose their jobs. But at the same time, I am really happy that Wegmans is here, because one: they hired James when no one else even looked at his resume, and two: their prices are unbelievably cheap and now I don't have to shop at Wal-Mart for groceries anymore!!! Another thing that is great about them is that they don't want more than two people waiting in line at the check out, so if that happens, they open up another register. How awesome is that?!?! If only Wal-Mart would do that...
Okay, enough about Wegmans, but I could go on and on...

Goodbye Auntie Candy, come back and visit soon!

Made this special quilt for Candy's farewell present.

Auntie Candy, I will miss you and your magical powers of getting me to take my binki and go to sleep with your sweet rocking motions. Please come back to visit soon. I am growing big and fast so that next time I see you we can play together! Love and kisses and maybe a little spit up here and there...

XOXO, Landon

(My fabulous friend Candy moved away this last week to Utah. It was a quick and unexpected life change for her and her family. They have become a big part of our lives in the last few years and we will miss them being just down the road from us. Love you tons and tons pretty lady!

Sound asleep, I swear!

Yesterday, after waking up in the morning and nursing, I put Landon down on the play mat for some play time while I ate breakfast. I looked at him and saw him grinning at the monkey. I thought it was the cutest thing!
Then... I realized he was asleep... this was the next shot I got... so then I decided to record him...

Isn't that crazy?!? He wakes up right before the recording ends, but I don't know if you can tell... I love being a mom!

Not so unique after all...

I can't believe I haven't blogged about this yet! So, the first visit to the pediatrician's office, the nurse (my old co-worker), Tracey, came out and told me that when I call in to make appointments for Landon, I need to give his date of birth. I said, "No way!" yup, they have another Landon J. Marker that was born last December. And here I thought I was clever naming him Landon, cause that isn't a common name yet... Hope they don't go to the same school... : )

Visiting Christina and the twins

Candy and Charlotte
Well, I never got a pregnancy photo with Christina, so here is our new mommy photo together!
Landon, Charlotte and Samuel at 4 weeks old.

What sweet babies! Landon was born one day before the twins.

Okay, so this morning was great! Landon slept all night the last two nights (still eating every two hours, but I will take that!) So we woke up early this morning, did our morning play time and then he went down for a good nap and I took a shower, did my hair and ....... drum roll please.... I fit into my first pair of pre-pregnancy pants! YAY! Now I just have to get myself into a non-maternity bathing suit for the beach trip at the end of July...

Love being Landon's mommy!

Landon just had a major poop and gave us this huge grin afterwards. I grabbed the camera as fast as I could, but I only got the tail end of the grin. Love it!
Landon and his play time. He is looking and grabbing this little monkey. I love that every day play time gets a little longer!

Landon's first Sunday at church

Major spit up all over James...
James in shock and a little soaked all over...

James not taking any more chances and laying the burp cloth on Landon...
First I have to say that we had an awesome sleeping weekend! Landon slept the entire night through only to wake up and feed on Friday night. YAY! Saturday night was almost as good, but he woke up at 6am and James took him downstairs so I could sleep some more. Then it was time to get ready for church! We actually did really well on time, I was very proud of us. And then right before we were going to get in the car, Landon had a major spit up. I am talking the floodgates opened and it got on James shirt, tie and pants, not to mention Landon's entire shirt was soaked. It was quite amusing!
Church was fun. Lots of people were excited to see him. And several people were in shock that he is blonde. My four year old niece, Bailey, kept asking when we were going to take him out of the car seat. I told her when he wakes up. So every time that she didn't think I was looking, she would start to poke him. : ) Of course, probably because of his major spit up, he needed to eat during sacrament meeting and she wanted to go with me. It was interesting to answer all of her questions about breastfeeding. She loved the fact that I have milk in my body and she thought it was gross when he spit up just a little after his burp. : )

Cute Video

Sorry, don't know how to delete first one...

Tonight Landon was wide awake and seemed to be staring a the blank wall behind the couch, I looked up and realized that he was staring at a picture of Jesus. Awesome.

Spit up, gotta love it!

Okay, so this morning, Landon woke up next to me and wanted to nurse. So I got ready and tried to side nurse him. Well, he had some issues latching on and staying latched on this morning, so I was wiggling around trying to help him, we were both getting frustrated and he was getting impatient having already had some breast milk and not wanting to wait for more. The next thing you know, he spit up all over my... chest. So, I decided to go sit in the rocking chair and nurse him.

Things I love about Landon

Every time we look at Landon when he is sleeping, his hands are in a new fun position. In the picture above, his finger was just sitting inside his mouth before I took the picture, he of course started to take it out of his mouth when the camera made noises.

Look at the position. He is the most comfortable in the craziest positions as long as we are holding him. (Notice what James is holding... besides Landon)

More cute hand positions. I love it!

Okay, so yes, my child is still a blondie. I can't tell if it is starting to get darker, or if more hair is just coming in. Landon hates his baths, but he loves to have his hair combed afterwards. : )

Landon sleeps with his eyes open and sometimes I can't tell if he is awake. I usually know for sure when he starts his REM cycle with his eyes wide open. It is pretty hilarious. Someday it might freak me out though... : )

Landon makes squeaking noises (Mom and Dad say he takes after Uncle Javy).

After a good cry, Landon makes this more pathetic whimpery cry, which I have to laugh at every time.
Sometimes when he is sleeping, he gets this sad look on his face and starts breathing really heavy like he is really upset, and then the next second, he has a huge smile on his face.
He started making eye contact last week and yesterday, just after a burp he turned his head and lifted his neck to look at me and then he started rolling his head back and forth mimicking me, it was hilarious. His neck is really strong, so I think we are ready to start tummy time!
When he is waking up not to eat, but just to be awake, he starts out by stretching himself awake. It is so cute, because you hear a series of grunts and then a bunch of legs and arms getting stretched out. I love it!
Most of all, I love how much he seems to love me back!
