Yeah, I know, I still owe a bunch of posts... BUT...
A woman from Sydney Australia contacted me through my www.quiltsbykista.com website and wants to sell my stuff out there. First she ordered eight things to show around for about a month and then she will let me know if she still wants to do it. I am really excited, but shipping is pretty expensive and when I mailed it today, the post office worker told me that she will probably be paying some kind of fee at customs since it is merchandise. So, obviously she has to love my stuff enough to make it worth paying for all that extra stuff. At first I thought it was a scam, but we have been talking for three weeks now, and it is for real! She said that she found my stuff online and has seen nothing like it.
WOW! Okay, so yes, I am really excited and a little nervous... I have a lot of blankets to start working on in this next month, because if she decides to go with my stuff, she is going to order bulk! Crazy!
But even if she doesn't, it will have given me the opportunity to get ready for the next craft show season without using James as my sweat shop :)

New toys are Awesome!
Smashing the cake... or not?
Cinco de Mayo party
We were in Joan's basement which is where James and I lived for a long time before we bought our house. It was weird to be back, but it is such a great and open space for parties! We had two kinds of enchiladas, home made beans, salsa, guacamole and some Brazilian soda. I feel like I am forgetting something, but all in all, it was fabulous! Oh that is right, James insisted on making tortillas as well. (Yes, we make them from scratch as well)
Presents before the party
Monkey Smash Cake
Mom found a star cake pan in Ross and we decided to make it work for a monkey. And I have to say I am very please with the final product. I do have to say that at first, I was a little nervous, but together we made eyes the same size and found splotchy places to fix. I couldn't stop taking pictures of it knowing that it would be destroyed soon.
Funky BUM Rash and Mexican Food
So... Landon got this funky rash on his bum, that started to look like scribble on an etch-a-sketch pad... The nurse at the Dr. office said to trace it with a pen to see how it progresses.
So Grandpa held him while I drew on his butt with a pen.
It was a rather interesting process.
Then Grandpa fed Landon a banana. Yeah, they have pretty much bonded!
Of course, that didn't stop Landon from coming and tugging at my shorts while I was making all of the food for the Cinco de Mayo party (more on that later)
Here is Landon giving me some tongue when all I wanted was a kiss...
And here is Landon having a blast with GrandpaFor the last three years we have had a Cinco de Mayo party to celebrate James's birthday. We make awesome Mexican food and eat a ton. This year, we decided to combine both James and Landon's birthday and have it early so that my parents could participate. I made our family's home made bean recipe (takes 3 hours) and the spanish rice on Sunday and the plan was to make two pans of enchiladas (from scratch) on Monday along with a smash cake for Landon...
Granpa and Grandma Alba come to visit
Grandma had to get the naked tub shots
Naked boy with an audience
Grandma and Grandpa thought it was funny how we double team it when getting Landon ready for bed.Okay, so I am majorly overdue for this particular post. They came at the end of April... Anyways, we had a great time. It was a lot busier than I would have liked, but I will take what I can get with them living so far away.
