Couch potato already

Today James had to work a 12 hour shift to make up for leaving early on Friday to drive to Richmond for Landon's follow up surgery appointment. So, I needed a little distraction for Landon so I could make myself dinner and do some small chores. So, I put his bouncy seat in front of the t.v. and put on an episode of SmallVille (which my girlfriend got me hooked on) and he watched an entire episode!!! Not sure if that is a great thing, but hey whatever works right?

Is this for real???

Landon is officially out of our bed at night!!!(Does two nights in a row make it official?)
James and I are getting so much more sleep it is incredible! Well, I guess we have to add the pack n play to the list of things we now have to take to the beach with us... I wonder how everything is going to fit in our little Civic...
This week we have more family coming into town, have to pack for the beach (this is the first trip with our newest addition to the family and I don't want to pack the whole house up...)Landon's follow surgery appointment in Richmond, a wedding reception to go to in Stafford and then we leave at 5am on Saturday morning for Holden Beach, NC for a week of family vacation. I am excited, but hope that Landon does well all week and doesn't get over stimulated... Then we come back and that next Sunday is Landon's baby blessing. Mom and Dad Alba are flying to be here and I can't wait for them to see how much this little guy has changed! This time they will get to see and hear his smiles and coos.

Fun moments from this week.

Having fun in the Bumbo laughing at his dad.

The happy times make the hard times so much easier!

New Belly Button

Hellooooo new belly button. Oh so kissable!
Seems to be healing very well. We are so glad. We had a rough couple of hours the night of the surgery, but since then, things seem to be great.
Landon had his 2 month appointment with the pediatrician on Monday. He got four shots. So I think between the shots and the hernia repair, he has had a couple of fussy days.
Needless to say, I am a little sleep deprived, but so glad that Landon is doing much better and seems to be a much happier baby. I really do think that the hernia bothered him a lot.

Landon's surgery

Landon's itty bitty ID band.
My fragile little guy just out of surgery.

Our first glimpse of his new belly button, won't really see it for a few more days.

Landon is slowly waking up

Landon's first taste of pedialite and first time with a bottle. He did surprisingly well. He drank about an ounce before letting the rest run down his chin.

The nurses wanted to take a picture of us in front of the building.

She couldn't resist taking this picture of Landon.

Intake nurse and Discharge nurse. They couldn't get enough of Landon!

Another Nurse that wanted to hold him.

This nurse was so sweet and she just kept saying over and over how gorgeous he was for a baby. She asked if she could hold him, she just couldn't resist it any longer. She was so wonderful to us. My camera ran out of batteries and she went and got me new ones.
Okay, so we got to the hospital at 8am. Landon went into surgery a little after 10:15am. He came out about an hour later and we came home. The Dr. was amazing! Love him! The nurses were lovely. All in all, I have to say, as anxious as I was, they made this experience wonderful.
Landon didn't cry at all! He went about 7 hours without eating, can't believe it!
So glad it is all over and can't wait to see if he is a happier baby from now on. Also, can't wait to see his new belly button in the next few days.

Night before Landon's surgery

Landon loves his bumbo!

Landon loves to jump. He used to jump off my stomach, but now he is too heavy for me to hold him that way, so now he jumps like this!

Landon was super active last night. You can hear him coo a little to James. I love it when he talks to us!!!

Landon is having surgery

So, the doctor was impressed with Landon's hernia. He wants to repair it and he wants to do it this Friday! Say some prayers for him please. I really liked the doctor. He was great.
It is an outpatient surgery, so we will be in Richmond for only part of the day.
It will be on Landon's 2 month birthday. (which is a good thing since he can't take Tylenol until he is two months old)

Giggles and Grins

Landon was talking to me this morning, but as soon as the camera came out, he stopped. He just started really talking to me every morning, poor James misses out. Hopefully he will get to hear Landon talk on Saturday morning.

more like me...

I think both Landon and James like this look better...
Okay, I didn't think that I could pull off the punk rocker hair style every day, so I started playing with my hair and came up with this. I feel like it is perfect for my personality. Maybe I'll do the punk rocker thing for Halloween again...

New do

I went pixie style! It looked great and then James messed it up... will have to style it again and have more pics uploaded. I was afraid Landon wouldn't know who I was afterwards, but he is okay with it, as long as I feed him : )

Cute church outfit!

Totally looks like James in this picture!
Thanks Aunt Joan for the outfit, and thanks Aunt Candy for the shoes!!!
I liked it when Mommy called me a stud muffin today!

Date night

After spending the morning in the emergency room, we took a nice nap and went to the swimming pool. We take turns swimming while the other watches Landon. Then we decided that since we knew the fireworks would be too loud for Landon, we would have dinner at Wegmans and come home and watch a movie. So we went to Wegmans and got a hamburger sub. Yeah, that's what I said, a HAMBURGER sub. It was fabulous!!! And it was 14 inches long! And we ate the whole thing! How disgusting is that?! It was really nice, because since it was the 4th of July, Wegmans was a lot less crowded and we didn't have to weave in and out of shopping carts.
I have to say, after James and Landon, Wegmans is the third love of my life!

Umbilical Hernia

Landon has a pretty bad umbilical hernia that kind of just appeared a few weeks ago. Then it grew double in size within a week. So, the pediatrician is sending us to a pediatric surgeon. Our appointment is on Wednesday. But we try to push it in several times a day. If for any reason we can't push it in, we are to seek medical attention immediately... On Saturday, the 4th of July, we woke up and I pushed it in, not so easily, and then within a half an hour, it wouldn't go in again. After trying to push it in for about 1/2 an hour, we took Landon to the emergency room.
They have itty bittie hospital gowns! I had to take a picture!

Mommy is so sad that her little boy isn't feeling good...

Daddy wonders how much his little boy's belly button bothers him...
We got to the hospital around 10am and saw the doctor, who was pretty nervous about our expectations of him and kept talking about the basics of umbilical hernias. I kept having to tell him that I know, I was ONLY concerned about not being able to push it in, not that it gets big every time he cries. I already knew that and it didn't bother me... So, after a long time of trying and manipulating, he got it pushed in and he said that it felt like it was open about a centimeter. Not long afterwards Landon filled his diaper up really well, as apposed to the straining he did for the little poop he had that morning. To me, there was definitely something blocked...
Landon sees a pediatric surgeon this Wednesday.

BFF's

Couldn't resist getting a shot of the two babies nursing at the same time!
Landon is 8 weeks and Issac is about 5 months. Hope you guys get along, you won't have much choice with how much your mommies hang out!

Happy Birthday Amanda!

Amanda turned 30 on the 3rd of July and we threw her a surprise party at the park! It was so much fun. The food was catered by Carrie and it was delicious! We love you Amanda!
