Feel better soon Grandma!

This is my beautiful mom and she got right on a plane the day that Landon was born (Mother's Day) to be with me to help with my first child. She had just been in Utah to help with my brother's family while my nephew Daniel was born just days before. The plan is to fly back out for Daniel's baby blessing, Landon's baby blessing, one more trip to Utah to help while my sister-in-law Kaisie has surgery, and then out to California to be with my brother and his family. Well, Dad called this weekend to tell me that Mom is in the hospital with a blood clot. Thank goodness she went to the Dr.! Blood clots can kill people! So, now we are waiting to see what the Dr. decides about her traveling anymore this summer. I think Daniel's blessing is this weekend coming up too... Mom, your health is more important! Don't forget that! I'd rather my children get to play with their grandma than just hear stories about how wonderful she was.
Get better soon, Landon sends kisses!

First time at the pool!

We went to the pool for the first time this last weekend. Landon did really well. He loves to be outside, so that helped a lot. It was pretty warm out. He sat in the baby pool with us for a long time and of course his diaper got super heavy... Then he was done and ready for a nap. So James and I took turns swimming and rocking him to sleep. It was so nice to get in the pool and feel so free. I didn't realize how many aches I had until I got out of the water. I think we'll have to try and go every day...

Just Chillin!

I woke him up after I took this picture... Ooops! it was so worth it though! : )
Landon loves to sleep with a hand under his cheek. I think it is so adorable!

Don't you just want to kiss that little face all day long!?!??!?!

Yay! Aunt Heather is finally back!

I thought this was a cool father/son shot.
Okay, to catch you up on everything... A few weekends ago, we had lightening strike right next to the house and our "ether net" got killed. We had to buy a new modem and router and it seems like James's XBOX live is dead too. I can't say that I am too sad about that... but it still sucks because it is really expensive to fix. We also think that our phone jack in the master bedroom is dead too... Wow, yeah, now I will take it more seriously when they tell you not to use the phone and other things during a lightening storm...
Landon is doing great! He just started smiling a lot and he talked to me last week and James thinks that he laughed this weekend. Can't wait to hear it! He slept Five hours on Saturday night and Sunday night he slept for five and a half hours and when he woke up, he didn't pig out like he normally does... I think we are finally falling into a schedule!!! I am so excited! Now we just have to get him out of our bed at night! I know, I know, small steps...
Wegmans opened on Father's Day. James had to work from 5am to 1pm just to help out with the craziness. He said when he got there at 5am, there were customers already lined up at the door waiting for it to open at 7am! Can you believe it??? It is just a grocery store... sort of... He said that they were making $57,000/hour. And they have 600 or 700 carts and that wasn't enough. There was a line of people at the doors waiting for shopping carts. So he spent most of the day running carts from the parking lot with the other guys.
I am kind of sad for the other grocery stores in the area, because I think that they might not make it now...and lots of people would lose their jobs. But at the same time, I am really happy that Wegmans is here, because one: they hired James when no one else even looked at his resume, and two: their prices are unbelievably cheap and now I don't have to shop at Wal-Mart for groceries anymore!!! Another thing that is great about them is that they don't want more than two people waiting in line at the check out, so if that happens, they open up another register. How awesome is that?!?! If only Wal-Mart would do that...
Okay, enough about Wegmans, but I could go on and on...

Goodbye Auntie Candy, come back and visit soon!

Made this special quilt for Candy's farewell present.

Auntie Candy, I will miss you and your magical powers of getting me to take my binki and go to sleep with your sweet rocking motions. Please come back to visit soon. I am growing big and fast so that next time I see you we can play together! Love and kisses and maybe a little spit up here and there...

XOXO, Landon

(My fabulous friend Candy moved away this last week to Utah. It was a quick and unexpected life change for her and her family. They have become a big part of our lives in the last few years and we will miss them being just down the road from us. Love you tons and tons pretty lady!

Sound asleep, I swear!

Yesterday, after waking up in the morning and nursing, I put Landon down on the play mat for some play time while I ate breakfast. I looked at him and saw him grinning at the monkey. I thought it was the cutest thing!
Then... I realized he was asleep... this was the next shot I got... so then I decided to record him...

Isn't that crazy?!? He wakes up right before the recording ends, but I don't know if you can tell... I love being a mom!

Not so unique after all...

I can't believe I haven't blogged about this yet! So, the first visit to the pediatrician's office, the nurse (my old co-worker), Tracey, came out and told me that when I call in to make appointments for Landon, I need to give his date of birth. I said, "No way!" yup, they have another Landon J. Marker that was born last December. And here I thought I was clever naming him Landon, cause that isn't a common name yet... Hope they don't go to the same school... : )
